C1300 · Coding & AI
A weekly coding and AI class in Holly Springs, NC for grades 9–12 — AI Engineer II focuses on building intelligent systems using machine learning and deep learning techniques.
This advanced stream emphasizes predictive modeling and real-world AI applications. Students learn how algorithms learn from data and how model performance is measured and improved. The stream covers structured data, unstructured text, and neural network-based systems. Ethical considerations remain central, especially when working with automated decision-making systems. By the end of this stream, students have hands-on experience with the technologies behind modern AI products.

Learning stream · 3 courses
AI Engineer II is a 3-course learning stream. Students progress through each course in order, building new skills as they go.
This course introduces students to machine learning as a systematic, experimental process. Students learn how predictive models are designed, trained, and evaluated using real datasets. They explore the differences between learning from labeled and unlabeled data and why those distinctions matter. Data preprocessing becomes critical as students prepare inputs for algorithms. Model evaluation teaches students how accuracy alone is not enough to judge performance. Concepts such as overfitting and generalization help students understand why some models fail in real-world scenarios. The course builds a strong foundation for responsible and effective AI model development.
Grades 9–128–12 sessions
This course explores how machines understand and process human language. Students work with raw text data and learn how it is cleaned, structured, and transformed into numerical representations. They explore how meaning, sentiment, and topics can be extracted from language. Practical applications show how NLP powers chatbots, search engines, and recommendation systems. Students also examine bias and fairness in language-based models. By working with real-world text, students gain insight into both the power and limitations of language-focused AI systems.
Grades 9–128–12 sessions
This course introduces students to deep learning, the technology behind advanced AI applications such as image recognition and speech processing. Students learn how neural networks are structured and trained to recognize complex patterns. They explore modern frameworks used in industry to build scalable AI systems. Image-based models demonstrate how computers interpret visual information. Sequence-based models introduce time-dependent and contextual learning. Students also learn techniques to improve model performance and reduce overfitting. The course connects theory to real-world applications, showcasing how deep learning drives today’s most powerful AI systems.
